In a 2-stroke engine, MOTO 2T oil is mixed with the petrol (or injected separately) and burned along with the fuel — it must burn cleanly, without fouling the spark plug or producing excessive deposits in the exhaust.
In a 4-stroke engine, MOTO 4T oil circulates in a closed loop and often lubricates the clutch and integrated gearbox too — it needs the right shear resistance to prevent clutch slip, which a 2T oil doesn't guarantee.
Putting 4T oil in a 2T mix (or vice versa) can foul the engine, reduce performance and eventually cause premature wear. If in doubt about your engine type, check the owner's manual or contact our technical team.
No — motorcycle oils are formulated differently (notably for wet-clutch shear resistance) and don't substitute for ULTIMATE automotive oil.
